Does your employer have the right to monitor the text messages on your phone? Maybe. Big Brother is calling...

Hopefully, you’re already aware that your company has the legal right to monitor your activity on their computers...

If you’ve got a company phone, Big Brother might enjoy listening to your calls or reading your texts too. New technology has made it easier than ever to install spy tools on handheld devices. If that device is technically the property of your employer, they have a right to monitor any of the content on there.

If you’re concerned that your privacy is being invaded in the workplace without your knowlege, you have some rights too. Your company is legally obligated to let you know if they use monitoring software or other tools in the workplace or on their equipment.
