Could an air freshener actually improve your driving skills? The scent that could prevent an accident...

Reaction time is a key component to driving skill - and there is a particular scent that can actually improve your reflexes and help to avoid an accident...

Dr. Alan R. Hirsch, neurological director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, says several different scents have been put to the test and fragrant jasmine performed best and had a positive impact on participants reaction time.

If you have trouble finding a jasmine scented air freshener for the car, consider stashing some jasmine scented tea or essential oil somewhere in the cabin. The results of the study suggest that jasmine could also be useful in enhancing athletic performance or during physical therapy and rehabilitation.
