If you’d like to get more done at work today – don’t go to work. Where to go instead...

If you’re stopping for coffee on your way to work, why not stay a while?

According to entrepreneur Wesley Verhoeve, there are some real benefits to working somewhere other than your office. He discovered this phenomenon while his company was switching office space. When they were forced to work outside of their usual environment, they wound up getting even more done. After they moved into their new space, they agreed to keep a few coffee shop days on the schedule each month.

Wesley explains that a change of environment stimulates creativity. Even in a busy coffee shop, we’re less likely to be distracted or interrupted with work-related questions. If you’d like to give Wesley’s coffee shop days a try, he suggests switching up coffee shops to avoid routine. He also says the best coffee shop work stations will be away from the door, cash register and outlets. You'll be foced to work faster and more efficiently if you don't plug in.
