You’re probably too close to the car in front of you...


The guy tailgating you in traffic is not only annoying – he’s at a higher risk for cancer... 

New research suggests that air pollution from traffic could be linked to a higher risk for ovarian, cervical, brain and stomach cancers. It’s pretty scary stuff but you can reduce your exposure by backing off a bit. Experts say there should be one car length between you and the car in front of you for every 10 mph you’re going. At a red light or in stop and go traffic – there should be one car length. At highway speed – there should be about 6 car lengths in front of you.

No word from the experts on how to prevent other drivers from filling up your safety space.
