Apparently, we're mixing all the wrong foods...


Whatever you do, don’t serve rice with that chicken...

If you’re having chicken for dinner, skip the rice and go with broccoli instead. According to Donna Gates, author of “The Body Ecology Diet,” certain food combinations make it harder for our bodies to digest. She says we will experience less bloating and heartburn and even look younger by avoiding these combos:

• Chicken and rice
• Steak and potatoes
• Pasta with meat sauce
• Hamburgers on a wheat bun
• Pizza with pepperoni
• Eggs with orange juice
• Cereal with fruit
• Rice and beans

Donna says animal proteins combined with starchy food or grains are much more difficult to digest. And fruit can start to ferment in our digestive tract when combined with other food. Have those 30 minutes BEFORE your meal. Eat peanut butter and jelly at your own risk!
