Is that glass half full or half empty? How your answer impacts your life-span...

Want to live longer?

Consider that glass half full. Suzanne C. Segerstrom, author of “Breaking Murphy’s Law,” says optimists live longer. That’s because, when faced with a problem, optimists are more likely to enjoy the challenge, while pessimists may be tempted to give up.

While some of us are born with a pre-disposition to pessimism – faking it can make a significant difference. Segerstrom explains: Emotions FOLLOW actions. Leading with some motivation and persistence activates our inner optimist which increases our odds of success and sense of self-worth.
