If depression runs in your family – have a burger...

If you’re prone to depression, there’s a new study on red meat that suggests it could help...

Participants who ate 7 to 14 ounces of lean, unprocessed meat per week, were half as likely to suffer from anxiety and depression. Eating more than that could be counterproductive – and processed meat doesn’t count.

The authors of the study pointed out that grass-fed beef is what we should be looking for. Meat labeled “grass-fed” or “grass-finished” will cost a little more than grain-fed meat – but it’s much better for us. It’s leaner, has less saturated fat and calories and more vitamins and antioxidants.
