Worried about something? Good...

“Don’t worry.” Easier said than done, right?

Howard S. Friedman, author of “The Longevity Project,” says go ahead and worry! It can actually be GOOD for us. People who worry tend to be more conscientious. Those people are less likely to smoke or drink too much, and wind up with more stable relationships and work lives. People who were overly cheerful and optimistic were more likely to feel invincible, take risks and ignore medical advice.

Dr. Friedman says “take it easy” and “avoid stress” is actually rotten advice. Productive people who strive to achieve goals on a regular basis live longer than those who are too laid back or prefer to chill out.
