Don't look here!

If you’re headed to the supermarket – put your blinders on...

Supermarkets are stocked with “special” tricks to “help” you buy. You’ll find a variety of marketing tricks in just about every aisle. Here are some things NOT to notice:

• The end caps: Those are the spots at the end of each aisle. They’re hard not to notice - but they hope you’ll grab something from there and MISS the lower priced version farther in.

• Displays: Just because it’s creatively stacked on a table with great signage doesn’t mean it’s on sale. Retailers often do this with regularly priced items just to move them out.

• Eye level: DON’T look there! Manufacturers pay big bucks for that shelf – which also happens to be about waist high for products marketed towards kids.

You might want to keep your eyes closed in the checkout line too. Some stores actually understaff the checkout on purpose, hoping you’ll grab a few more items while you’re waiting.
