Where do you see yourself in 5 years? How would you improve this product or company? How many golf balls can fit in a school bus? Those are a few of the questions you’ll need to field if you’d like to work for Google. Here are a few more – and these were the easy ones…
Q: Why are manhole covers round?
A: It prevents the cover from falling through the opening.
Q: How many times a day do a clock’s hands overlap?
A: 22. 11 each, AM and PM.
Q: A man pushed his car to a hotel and lost his fortune. What happened?
A: He landed on Boardwalk.
Q: You have 8 balls. 7 weigh the same, 1 is heavier. How do you determine which ball is heavier using a balance scale with just two weigh-ins?
A: Weigh 6 of the balls – 3 on each side. If that’s balanced, you know it’s one of the 2 remaining balls – weigh them for your answer. If the heavier ball is in one of the first groups of three, weigh two from that group and you’ll have your answer.
If you’re wondering how many golf balls can fit in a school bus – the answer is about 500,000. If you’re asked to explain that – you’re on your own. If you don’t get the job, don’t take it personally. Google receives over 1 million resumes per year – less than half of 1% will land a job there.
