The next time you buy produce – pick from the top...

Do you reach in the back or dig to the bottom to find the best produce?

Don’t bother. The best picks are in the front or on top of the bin. Produce that has been exposed to light are richer in vitamins C, E, K and folic acid. Light exposure is what kick starts the photosynthesis process.

When picking your produce, keep this rule in mind – the brighter the better. Choose pink grapefruit over white, sweet potatoes over white and red apples over green or yellow. The brighter the produce, the more antioxidants you’re getting.
