Have you been getting bogus emails from family members lately?

If your niece or mother-in-law has been sending you email promising great news when you click the link – it’s probably not from them...

Unless they’re professional hackers, your niece and mother-in-law probably have no idea you even got that mail. There’s a new wave of spammers out their working the social networking sites and hacking into the contact lists of some of your closest friends and family members.

There’s not much you can do about reporting the spammers. Go ahead and let your friend or relative know – they may want to alert their other contacts. Just be sure to do that by phone or in a NEW email. Replying to a bogus email just increases your odds of being hacked. Go ahead and delete the spam and DON’T click on any links.
