If you post pictures from your smart phone – check this setting...

Any picture you upload from your smartphone has got some scary information embedded in there...

Most people have the GPS enabled on their smartphone and that automatically applies to your camera too. Go ahead and take a picture, then click options and open that picture information. If your GPS is activated, a specific address will appear. Once that picture is uploaded onto a site like Facebook or Twitter, that location is available to the world with a right click and data search. That information is like a road map to your house, your kids’ school or ball field or wherever you happen to be. There is even software available to display that information in actual road map form.

If you need your GPS on your phone, but not on your pictures, you can disable just that function. It differs a little by phone. Those options should appear either in your location settings, or on the camera function itself. Once you’ve turned location “off” on your camera, picture location data will not appear.
