If you’re trying to eat less, let those dirty dishes linger a bit...
In a recent study, people who had a visual of the leftover food they just ate, or the dishes they ate from, had much less of an urge to eat again anytime soon. The same trick works with snacking. Leaving the garbage candy wrappers or empty chip bag in your line of sight helps to remind you you’re not as hungry as you might otherwise think you are – and can help put the brakes on mindless eating.
