Touch screen gadgets sure are cool – but they’re crawling with germs!
Anti-microbial cloths and special foams are on the market now – but use them sparingly. Apple’s instructions on cleaning their touch screens suggest using only a non-abrasive cloth, slightly damp with water only. Screen cleaners containing alcohol can damage the special coating on touch screens. Excessive rubbing of the screen is no good either.
The best defense in cutting down on touch screen germs is to pay attention to when and where you touch it. Keep it out of reach while cooking or in the bathroom – and think twice before handing that device over to a sick kid to keep them happy.
