Hold your nuts!

If eating nuts isn’t part of your weight loss strategy – it should be...

If you’re trying to keep your weight in check – or would even like to lose a few pounds –have a handful of nuts. A study from the City of Hope National Medical Center found that overweight people who worked a serving or two into their diet lost more weight than another group who didn’t eat nuts. Any nuts will do – but the amount is really important. One ounce is the magic number. For most people, that’s the amount of nuts you can hold in the palm of your hand with your fingers closed. A lot of nut servings are more than that so be careful. Those who ate more than two 1 ounce servings of nuts a day actually ended up gaining weight.
