We associate exercise with health and well-being – but too much exercise could actually hurt your health...
A study from the British Society for Immunology found that people who are into intense, prolonged exercise, like marathon runners, are more vulnerable to colds and infections. On the other end of the scale are the couch potatoes. Very little or no exercise increases your sick risk too.
Light to moderate daily exercise is just what the doctor ordered for the best immune boost. Taking just one brisk walk per day can reduce the odds of picking up a respiratory infection by about one third – as long as you get enough sleep and have a balanced diet.
