If you’re tempted to share your sushi with your cat – don’t. What NOT to feed your cat...

Cats love fish, so why not share that sushi with them?

According to Dr. Sally Perea, veterinary nutritionist, human-grade sushi can be dangerous for cats. Raw fish has compounds in there that could lead to neurological problems and convulsions. Here are a few more things NOT to give to your cat:

• Uncooked eggs could expose them to salmonella and other parasites. You can give your cat cooked eggs, but only on occasion and in small amounts.

• Onions and chives: Some cats are attracted to onions – but keep them away. Even trace amounts can damage red blood cells. Cooked, raw or powdered onions are all considered toxic to a cat.
