Having different passwords for every account is secure – but hard to remember...

You’ve heard plenty of warnings that you shouldn’t use the same password for all your accounts...

That’s good advice, considering that if a hacker gets access to one of your accounts, he’s got them all. Here are some ideas to choose one for all of your accounts that's secure:

The longer, the better. Come up with a password, longer than 8 characters and commit that to memory. You want to avoid phone numbers, birthdays and dictionary words. One option is to choose a short sentence only you would think up, then add some numbers. For example: I ate 25 french fries, all one word.

Now, in order to reuse that password on different accounts, simply tack a hint at the end. I ate 25 french fries gmail or I ate 25 french fries Amazon.
