Look around. You’re bound to see something pumpkin. The great pumpkin flavoring fad...

If it seems like there’s more pumpkin stuff than ever this year, you’re not imagining things...

Pumpkin always gets a push at this time of year but the flavoring fad is at an all-time high this go-around. Pumpkin pies and breads may be nothing new – but now we’re seeing less conventional pumpkin stuff on the shelves including pumpkin coffee and tea, butter and beer, pumpkin granola, ice cream and yogurt, pumpkin pancakes and pastas, dog treats and even pumpkin cream cheese for your pumpkin bagel.

Recent market research from the restaurant industry says pumpkin beverages have spiked by 400% since 2007. Keith Stewart, director of marketing at Cosi, says pumpkin is a flavor that brings on the nostalgia and customers are instantly drawn to it. Pumpkin booze is a big seller. People are picking pumpkin cocktails made with pumpkin vodkas, rums or pumpkin punch.
