If you’re not into meditation – give daydreaming a whirl...

The next time you feel your mind drifting – go with it...

Daydreaming may seem like a waste of time but it’s actually a very effective tool for boosting your creativity and problem-solving skills. According to Amy Fries, author of “Daydreams at Work,” daydreaming helps us tap into the most complex regions of the brain. She says daydreams are not just wishful thinking; they are your source for ideas, energy and motivation.

Some of our most creative and successful companies actually factor daydreaming time into the workday for their employees, including Google, Gore-Tex and 3M. Your first daydream assignment: Imagine yourself asking your boss to add daydreaming to the schedule.
