You know you’re supposed to wash the chemicals out of new clothes and linens – but do you know how?

Some new clothes and linens are often full of toxic chemicals including formaldehyde...

Unfortunately, running them through a regular laundry cycle isn’t enough to get them out. To really detox your clothes, consider adding powdered milk to the load. Just add a half cup while the basin is filling with cold water, add the new items and let them sit for about a half hour. Next, add your detergent and let the cycle complete.

If you’re not sure if those new clothes are toxic, check the labels and tags. If there are instructions to wash before using, you really should. New clothes that are stiff, pressed or have a fragrance are probably full of chemicals.
