If you’d like to live longer – walk faster!

If you’re walking into work, down the hall, or around the block – pick up the pace!

A new study says people who walk faster live longer. Researchers at University of Pittsburgh looked at 35,000 people over the age of 65 and determined that the faster they walked, the lower their risk of death would be.

The results were significant. The fast-walkers lived up to 10 years longer than those who shuffled along slowly. Another study from Harvard University found that women who walked regularly at a brisk pace could reduce their risk of stroke by 40%.
