The next time you eat a banana – save the peel...

After you enjoy that banana – save the peels for your heels....

Banana peels are actually perfect to perk up your favorite pair of leather shoes. Just rub the peel all over the shoe, buff with a soft cloth, and those scuffs and scratches will begin to fade. Banana peels are rich in potassium, a key ingredient in shoe polish. They will soften the leather and even remove salt stains.

If you’re not wearing leather shoes, you can still use that banana peel to polish your plants. Just give the dull or dusty leaves of your houseplant a swipe with the banana peel. It removes dust, adds moisture and shine - and will also chase away any resident aphids
