Stick out your tongue and take a look at it. Now let's find out if you’re healthy...

Your tongue can say a lot about you – health-wise...

According to experts at the Mayo Clinic, we should all be taking a good long look at our tongues. Under normal conditions, your tongue should be light to dark pink, with tiny white bumps. If it’s not, here’s what your tongue might be trying to tell you:

• Pale pink: Your iron levels might be low.

• Cracked or grooved: Ask your doctor to check your vitamin B levels.

• Red patches or dots: If you’re tongue looks a little like a map – you might need zinc.

• White coating: Have some yogurt. You could probably use some good bacteria.

• Brown or black coating: That’s probably from caffeine or nicotine or antibiotics.

• Yellow tinged or streak: You may have a fungal infection – tell your doctor.
