Throw an extra pillow on the bed tonight. Here's where you should put it…

What’s your favorite sleep position?

If it’s on your back, you need an extra pillow. According to Dr. Mark Wiley, author of “The 3 Secrets to Optimal Health," back sleepers wind up with problems if they don’t use a pillow under their knees. He says If you are lying on your back and your legs are straight, there is insufficient support for the lower back allowing it to arch too high. Back sleepers should also make sure the pillow under their head is touching their shoulders.

If you sleep on your side, you’ll still need that extra pillow. Dr. Wiley says it’s the best, most natural sleeping position – but a pillow between the knees will prevent your legs from overlapping. That will protect your hips and alignment of the spine.

If you sleep on your stomach, you’re doing it all wrong. That position interferes with proper circulation and the nerves that travel from the neck down the arms to the hands.
