Do you ever hand your smartphone over to your kid? If so, I’ve got some apps that will keep them happy...

We’ve covered the best free apps out there for you – but what about your kids?

Here is a list of some that get great scores – and a few of them are free!

• LEGO Creationary: It’s for ages 5 and up and it’s free.

• Montessori Numbers: This one for ages 3 to 7 costs $2.99 – but that’s a small price to pay for nuturing your budding mathematical genius.

• NASA Science: A Journey of Discovery: It’s for 8 year olds and up and it’s free. It’s got photos, movies and weather and even lets you search for other habitable planets out there.

• Where’s My Perry: Also for 8+, it’s just .99 cents. This one falls into the highly-addictive category.

• PlaySquare: WorldWorld’s Happy Birthday Dog! It’s free for kids 3 to 6 and describes itself as “touchable television.”
