You’re STILL married? Why you may have your siblings to thank for that.

If you’re from a large family, that could be good news for your marriage.
 
 New research is suggesting that the more brothers and sisters you have, the less likely you are to get a divorce. To qualify for that added protection, you’ll need to be one of at least four in your family. Having just one or two siblings didn’t provide any more benefit than being an only child.

The authors of the say they found that growing up in a family with multiple siblings helps you develop a set of skills for negotiating and considering other people’s points of view. The more siblings you have, the more you had to practice those skills growing up which is a good foundation for a lasting marriage later on.
