When is the last time you sat down a played a board game?
Their popularity always seems to surge when we have a massive power outage somewhere – but don’t wait for that. Few things bring a family or friends together like board games. There’s one for every age and we all benefit. Classics like Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders are great for young children learning colors and directional skills. Scrabble, Boggle and other word games are good brainwork for all ages – as are standards like chess, checkers and backgammon.
While video games have been hogging the spotlight for a while – they are no match for board games. Sitting face to face or in a circle boosts the bonding and conversation and gives us all a chance to slow down, chill out and have some good old-fashioned fun.
