That light yogurt might just be making you fat!

If you watch what you eat watch out for some healthy food that could be fattening.

Marjorie Nolan, National Spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association says certain “skinny” foods can actually trigger hunger and sabotage your diet:

• Light yogurt: That blast of sweet, artificial flavor wakes your stomach up – and the lack of fat doesn’t give it enough to digest.

• Puffed cereal and skim milk: There are so few calories in there you won’t be energized and the low fiber content leaves you wanting more.

• Big green salad with diet dressing: The low protein and no-fat content won’t fill you up – and fat-free dressing is loaded with sugar.
Sugar free chewing gum and diet soda are two more diet don’ts. Their sweetness just stimulates your digestive system and prepares you for a meal. Save those for during and after a meal to help prevent over-eating.
