If you'd like to improve the life of your smartphone battery...

If you’ve got your email, navigation, camera, games and phone all in the palm of your hand – you probably use a LOT of battery on your smartphone...

The more stuff we have on there, the faster it dies. There are a few good tricks to extend the battery life on your smartphone:

• Find and use your phone’s energy-saving settings.

• Keep the brightness setting low and shorten the interval for backlight shutoff.

• Disable all the apps you don’t use on a regular basis. They can sap energy even when they’re not open.

• Use a simple standard ringtone. Musical ringtones use the processor which drains the battery.

• Increase the “check for mail” time interval to every 10 minutes or half hour.

• Decrease your alert settings. You probably don’t need vibrate, tone and visual all at once.

• Step outside. Your smartphone will use less battery away from areas with a lot of electrical “noise” such as the office or a mall.
