Talk Too Much?

Do you talk a lot?

If you’re a chatterbox – there’s a good chance you’re prone to spikes in your blood pressure. Talking a lot – or too fast – uses up a lot of oxygen and gives your heart a workout trying to keep up with the demand. Talking slow can really lower that pressure a bit. In a recent study people who talk less had 50% fewer spikes in blood pressure. Experts say the quiet types have more oxygen and tend to be more laid back and a lot less frustrated than the fast talkers.

While you’re talking less – listen for something funny. Laughing is another effective way of lowering blood pressure by encouraging some deep breathing and increasing oxygen levels.
