If worrying about getting Alzheimer’s disease someday gives you a headache – take an Advil. New research says ibuprofen seems protect us more from the disease than acetaminophen. Scientists explain that Ibuprofen reduces brain inflammation which is a key risk factor for Alzheimer’s – and taking pain relievers like Advil, occasionally, can actually kill some pain now and protect us a bit for later.

Unlike aspirin though, it doesn’t look like ibuprofen will be prescribed on a regular basis just yet. The risks of long-term use still outweigh the potential benefits.
