Interview Jitters

If you get nervous before an interview...

Once you’ve landed that interview – relax. It’s natural to job-seekers to get the jitters – some people even get terrified before that big interview – but CareerBuilder.com has some professional advice to calm us down. Interviewers say put yourself in their shoes. They’re not out to make your life miserable – they really are hoping you’re “the one.” Here are a few more tips:

• Don’t rush. Plan your day around the interview – running late will stress you out.

• Relax. Leave yourself some time before the interview to do something soothing. Then, after you check in for the interview – take a moment to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

• Prepare your own questions. Interviewers almost always ask if you have any questions about the job at the end of the interview. You’ll feel a lot better during the interview knowing you’re prepared for that moment.
