Picking Grapes

The next time you reach for a bunch of grapes – pick the purple ones...

If grapes are on your shopping list – consider the purple variety. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition says eating a cup of purple grapes a day can lower your risk of heart disease. They’re loaded with flavanols and other compounds that prevent the build-up of bad cholesterol. Purple grapes help to improve blood flow and reduce the risk of blood clots too.

If you don’t have time to eat a cup of purple grapes every day – have some purple grape juice on stand-by – 8 ounces a day will do the trick.
