Researchers from Oxford University wanted to determine how color might enhance a favorite warm drink. The participants got to sip from four different colors - red, white, orange and beige. They rated the cocoa in the orange mug as the most delicious and intense in flavor. Beige was the next best cocoa companion - and made it taste sweeter.

The research team tested coffee color too and found that it tastes and smells best in the color brown. Blue and yellow made the coffee seem softer and work better for tea.
