Salt for Breakfast

How about some salt with that breakfast cereal?

Two scoops of raisins, an excellent source of fiber – and a whole bunch of salt.  That’s what you’ll find in Raisin Bran, one of the saltiest cereals out there.  One bowl has 15% of your daily sodium recommendation.  It’s got 350 mg, which is almost twice of what you’ll find in a bowl of Cheerios.  That Raisin Bran is a better choice than Eggos though.  Three buttermilk pancakes have got almost 600 mg of sodium.  One Lender’s Whole Grain Plain Bagel has 490 mg, and you’ll get another 200 from the cream cheese.  If you wash it all down with a Spicy Hot V8 – you’ll be getting another 480 mg of sodium.
