Desert Cool

If you’d like to cool off WITHOUT the AC...


Here are some heat busting tricks from Death Valley Ranger, Dale Housley:

• Hang a damp sheet in the window at night. Breezes are cooled by the evaporating water as they pass through.

• Place a bowl of ice in front of a fan. Blowing cool air will feel a lot nicer than hot. 

• Keep a spray bottle of water in the refrigerator. Give yourself a spritz and feel the heat evaporate. 

• Turn stuff off. Lights and that computer emit a lot of heat. The same goes for your dishwasher and dryer. Try letting things air dry instead.
