Cut the Cord

Do you watch $1,200 worth of TV a year?

Most of us pay a LOT to watch TV over the course of a year. A basic cable package runs about $550 – and you’ll shell out closer to $1,200 for a premium package. For those who are brave enough to cut the cord – you can probably watch just as much, if not more, for a LOT less. You’ll need a computer and internet of course. The first place to check is your favorite show’s network. A lot of them stream current shows online for FREE. Sites like Hulu, and TV.com have entire seasons of hit shows available for a lot less per month than we pay for cable – and you’re bound to find some vintage favorites on there too. If sports or movies are your thing – there are plenty of sites for those too, at a fraction of the cost.

There are cables available to view what you’re streaming on your TV – and even wireless boxes now that sell for under $100. Chances are, if you opted for all of the above, you’d have more of what you want to watch and pay a lot less for it per year.
