How would you like a hero in your home? Four legged, furry heroes are available. Dogs who have been deployed in Iraq, are coming back home and are up for adoption. These dogs came from the U.S., South Africa and Germany and served in Iraq, mostly in the Green Zone. Their primary duty was to sniff out explosives in vehicles at security checkpoints. They’re well trained, well-behaved and range in age from 5 to 8 years old.
Even if you can’t provide a home for a four-legged hero, there are other ways to help. SPCA International is accepting donations to cover some of the travel and supply costs to get the dogs state-side, provide food and shelter - and find homes for the canine veterans.
