Sweet Pain

If that diet soda gives you a headache – you’re not alone...

If you feel tired or achy after that sugar free soda or candy – it’s probably the aspartame. About one in five of us don’t tolerate sugar substitutes very well. The compounds in there can knock our nervous system off track a bit, which may trigger fatigue and headaches.

Avoiding fake sweeteners is the best approach – but if you can’t do without that sugar substitute, try taking some extra magnesium. It makes the nerves less reactive to aspartame.
