December is a tough month for dieters...
If you know you’ll be bending the rules in the next few weeks, you might want to stock up on cinnamon. According to Susan Albers, author of “Eating Mindfully,” adding a half-teaspoon of cinnamon to your daily diet can really help. Cinnamon helps to process the extra carbohydrates you’ll probably be ingesting with those festive treats and meals. It can also help to stimulate some calorie burn. Try sprinkling some cinnamon into your breakfast cereal, yogurt or coffee and don’t forget to use it in savory soups and stews.
Anne, I agree but advise people to insure it's true cinnamon and not the cassia that's sold in American grocery stores. Especially people on medications and blood thinners need the benefits of true cinnamon. What are your thoughts?
