Chestnuts roasting on an open fire – are REALLY good for you!

Don’t just sing about them – eat some!

Chestnuts are packed with nutrients. They are lower in fat than some other favorite nuts and are full of fiber too. They’re high in complex carbs which will perk you up and keep you there for a while. Chestnuts also have B vitamins which are good for your brain. The antioxidants in chestnuts are good for your skin and help to soak up free radicals for a healthy glow.

You won’t need an open fire to roast your chestnuts – your oven will do just fine. Boil them for about 5 minutes first. Using a sharp knife, score each nut with an X. Put them on a baking sheet and pop them into a 425◦ oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
