Can you tell if someone is attractive by the sound of their voice?

We can tell a lot about someone just by the sound of their voice...

Most voices reveal a person’s gender, whether they are young or old, happy or sad, passive or aggressive. New research suggests that we can even judge how attractive someone might be by the sound of their voice. Scientists measured sex appeal of both male and female voices. Higher pitched female voices were not only scored as more attractive – but more often than not, they belonged to a sexier woman. The same was determined for men with low pitched voices.

The scientists explained that hormone levels at puberty help to determine the ultimate pitch of our voice and how our bodies develop. Boys with higher testosterone levels at puberty are more likely to develop deeper voices and a more masculine physique. Girls with higher estrogen levels at puberty ultimately have higher pitched voices and curvier bodies.
