There’s a new lame password on the most-common list...

You probably already know that 123456, ABC123, qwerty and the word “password” are really lame passwords...

They’re still on the list of most commonly used and easy to crack. If you think you’re clever by using the word “LetMeIn” as you’re password –you’re not. That’s on the list now too. Adding your name or birth year to any of those won’t help either – hackers aren’t stupid, you know.

The best and most secure passwords are still a pain in the neck. Random scrambled characters are super hard to crack – and impossible to remember. Your best bet for a secure password that you’ll remember is to combine two parts of unusual words. You’ll need to use both upper and lower case – and throw a few numbers in there too. Another good trick is to combine foreign and English words to create a unique word, at least 8 characters in length, you won’t forget.
