Did you know some foods are thought to bring good fortune in the new year?

If you’re at a loss for dinner ideas tonight – how about cooking up something lucky?

In most Asian countries, long noodles signify longevity. Just be sure the noodles aren’t broken or shortened during the cooking process. Here is a list of more edible luck:

• Pork: In Cuba, Spain and Austria, pigs symbolize progress because these animals never move bakward.

• Whole fish: It’s important the fish be served with the head and tail intact to ensure a good year, from start to finish.

• Pomegranates: In Turkey, their color represenst the human heart and denotes life and fertility. The seeds represent prosperity.
