Did you know plants can hear? And they have some favorite songs...

You might want to move your favorite plant a little closer to your speakers - or farther away...

Plants can actually hear, in a way, and the right music can make them healthier and grow faster. Biologist Stefano Mancuso has been studying sound frequencies and plant growth for decades. Plants may not have ears, but they do have similar molecular tools that perceive different frequencies. Upbeat, feel good music and classical inspired the most growth.  Rhapsody in Blue is a big hit on the plant charts. A lot of plants seem to like Indian sitar music too. Crank up some head-banging heavy metal – and you may see your plant actually lean away from it and eventually wither and die.
