If your dog likes guacamole – that could be a problem...

Some dogs will eat just about anything – but that doesn’t mean it’s okay for them...

Dogs do NOT have a magical sixth sense of what to eat. Here are some foods that really could hurt them:

• Apples: The not meat portions of apples are poisonous. That includes leaves, the stem and the seeds.

• Avocado: They contain persin, a toxic fatty-acid derivative that is dangerous to all domesticated animals.

• Bread dough: Just a little bit can be a BIG problem. It can literally rise and expand in a pet’s stomach and cut off blood supply.

• Mushrooms: All kinds, even commercial, are dangerous to dogs.

• Nuts: Macadamias and walnuts have a toxin that can affect the digestive and nervous system in dogs.

• Onions: Raw or cooked, they’re toxic to both cats and dogs – and you won’t see symptoms for a day or two.

• Chocolate: Don’t panic over a small amount – but large amounts can make a dog really sick. The darker the chocolate the more dangerous.
