If your favorite song comes on the radio while you’re driving, watch out.
Recent studies have found that drivers tend to get excited when that really great song comes on - and that can result in some aggressive behavior. That surge of excitement can travel right down your leg to the gas pedal. Cranking it up really loud is obviously another hazard and can interfere with warning sounds of potential hazards. Singing and drumming on the steering wheel won’t enhance your driving skills either.
On the other hand, some studies have found that listening to music you like while you drive can help to keep you alert and even improve concentration. Just don’t get carried away when a song you LOVE comes on.
