Country air might be healthier - but you might live longer in the city.
A new study says city folk are better off than their country kin. That’s because those living in urban areas are less likely to die from serious injury than rural dwellers. Car crashes are the biggest culprit of early death - and those are twice as deadly in rural areas. Country bumpkins are also more likely to smoke, be obese and sedentary and have higher rates of diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure, according to the study.
Living in the city is not without it’s own risks. Those urban types are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, mental breakdown, schizophrenia, asthma, food allergies and sexually transmitted disease.
